Nerd Out.
As many of you probably already know, Forza 4 was released at 12:01 last night. I, like many others, have been waiting for the better part of the year for this game to come out. I pre-ordered the game from Game Stop but realized several days later that they would not be doing a midnight release, meaning I would have to wait until 7:00 PM to get it because of my work schedule. I did not want to wait that long, and I also wanted to make sure that I grabbed a “ship” package so that I could get the JZZ-30 along with several other extra cars. I decided to head over to the local 24 hour Wal-Mart last night to get it instead. I guess ill have to return my pre-order, or re-sell it if returns are not accepted.
I never got around to finishing Forza 3, however I made it to driver level 30. When I put Forza 4 into my Xbox I was rewarded with some free cars for my work in Forza 3. Not all that happy with which cars they decided to give me but beggars can’t be choosers.
I had read about Affinity points prior to the games release so I picked a Nissan Versa as my first car. I knew I wanted to build an S13 along with other Nissan Chassis’, so I wanted to build my Affinity to Nissan as soon as possible to avoid having to spend large amounts of money to modify all my future chassis’.
Unfortunately there is still not much smoke to be made from drifting like many drifting enthusiasts had hoped there would be. It seems like they did away with drifting “points” completely. I heard rumors that there would be drift events, however I didn’t see any on the event list.
The new Physics engine is awesome. There is a couple more options to assist less/more experienced drivers. From the couple cars I’ve driven so far, the sounds are better, and the interior cockpit view is the best i’ve seen of any game to date. I haven’t been able to try Rivals mode since my Xbox Live has expired, but I am thinking about renewing it. Overall, the game is great and I cant wait to play it more to see what else it has to offer. If you haven’t already picked it up or ordered it, you should.
